Welcome back to the 2011-2012 school year. We are excited about another very successful year. As you know this year is going to be a challenging year given the fiscal crisis the state of California is facing. Over the past several years, education has been affected by cuts. Our overall goal is to maintain the integrity of our programs, while working towards academic excellence for all students. As a community, we need to work together to ensure our students receive the best education possible.

The Prisk staff is committed to working hard. During this continued economic downturn we are relying more and more on our fabulous PTA and Foundation. Through their fund raising efforts we have been able to sustain many of the "extras" that we feel have a positive impact on our student's education. Prisk students continue to enjoy off site field trips that are aligned to grade level content standards. Guest speakers and site assemblies are provided as a means to engage the students and connect classroom learning with life experiences. Our Foundation supports our science program by raising the necessary funds to pay for our amazing science specialist.

The future is uncertain and we can anticipate even deeper cuts. As professionals we are dedicated to your child and providing a quality education. Together we can meet these challenges head on and continue to work for all Prisk students.
