NewsWhooping Cough Alert / Alerta de la Tos Ferina
The Long Beach Health Department and Long Beach Unified School District would like to alert you about the whooping cough (pertussis) epidemic affecting California. A whooping cough booster shot (called "Tdap") is recommended for all children ages 11 to 18. If your child has not had his/her booster shot, please see your health care provider about getting one as soon as possible. Parents can help to prevent outbreaks in our schools by making sure their children's immunizations are up to date.
